Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a layer of security to your accounts by requiring you to provide two or more pieces of evidence (such as a code sent to your phone or email address) to log in to your system. By adding MFA, it’s much harder for malicious actors to gain access if they manage to guess or steal your password.
If you receive an invoice with an unexpected attachment, it is best not to open it – even if it appears authentic. The same goes for emails that look like they are from Xero but contain personal information requests or links embedded within them. Instead, forward the message to Xero Support with full details so we can investigate further.
All passwords stored in Xero systems are encrypted using advanced encryption methods. We recommend setting unique passwords for each account, which contain a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. Additionally, you should consider using two-step authentication where supported across all online services used by your business.
